Even the best-laid plans are upset in A.J. Cove’s Ordinary Vamp.

Kevin’s an ordinary guy who wants nothing more than to win the attention of the woman he loves. He can’t understand why his manager, Jessica, won’t help him get Anna’s attention.

Jessica is just trying to get through her last weeks as Kevin’s manager. After that, she can settle in to her perfectly planned life as the wife and business partner of her lawyer boyfriend Cam.

Neither Kevin nor Jessica have any idea how much their lives will be changed when Lloyd, a new hire who looks remarkably like Kevin, starts working on their floor.

Ordinary Vamp has a more complicated plot then stories of this length generally allow. The result is a good deal of back story delivered at break-neck speed through rather clichéd dialogue. The characters never do much to endear themselves to the reader, and you might find yourself wondering why you should care about these one-dimensional stereotypes and their slapped-together romance. This is probably just as well, since their fate is rather terrible, which Cove never seems to acknowledge. An altogether unsatisfying read.

I wonder if they just don't like my negative reviews...
